Do you have a good imagination? Can you see the ancient Ghosts (or white) horses in this photo? We can! We see white horses thundering into the 21st century from their ancient
Siberian past? They are every bit as awesome, beautiful, and powerful as this picture conveys, and will produce spotted foals 99.9% of the time. So far we show a 100% record of colorful foal production from these
gorgeous "white" horses.
Since the original Tiger or "Heavenly" Horses from Siberia are extinct, we have no way of knowing what they really looked like (except from the renderings of ancient artists) but
we do know when modern day Tiger Horses inherit 2 copies of the Lp gene (leopard spotting coat patterning gene) and appear to be white horses (we've named them Ghosts), they tend to look amazingly alike. And
here's another phenomena, not only do they share body markings, they share many other similarities. ie, temperament and a very specific type of middle gait.
Without exception all Ghost Horses to-date have
preferred to perform the "shuffle" gait which is closer to the jog-trot to look at, than the stronger middle gaits that their full siblings might exhibit. Other amazing similarities, one to the other, leads us to
believe that these rare and beautiful horses, probably closely resemble their ancient forebearers more than any other modern day horse. "As genes take millions of years to evolve or 'dissapear'," it is not unreasonable
to believe we have recreated an original horse that closely resembles its forebearers.
A medley of "white" Ghost Horses (below), is offered for your enjoyment. To see them in more detail, click on each
picture of interest. By the way, they're not really white horses because their skin beneath that white body is quite mottled and not just pink. White horses have pink skin and Gray horses have black skin. If
you have what you think is a Ghost Horse, wet it down and check for the mottled skin that lurks beneath that white body coat. You may be stabling the find of the century. |
