GHOSTS

These  "Leopard Ghost Horses," are the reason we and others are able to inject so much exotic color into our Tiger Horse herds. The characteristics of this unique horse's white spotting gene are very different from those of other white spotting genes. Correct identification is required in order to guarantee that breeders are not using imposters in their attempts to produce spotted foals. Only horses that are homozygous for the Lp or LP gene, will give and guarantee their foals get Appaloosa coat patterns.

These beautiful horses are brother and sister (left to right):  Annandale's Eagle Feather, and Annandale's  Ghost Story. Both now belong to Steve and DeDe Marshall of North Carolina and are Ghost Horses supreme. They have different dams but almost identical markings. Both are shufflers like all other Ghosts Horses of this type.

Since we are the Founders of a new horse breed, we share our formula and these treasures with others who also wish to be in the Tiger Horse breeding business. But Royalty Tiger Horses are also great, gaited, trail riding mounts and they certainly turn heads out there.

CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE now, BETWEEN THE GHOSTS AND THE SNOWCAPS? IT'S NOT EASY.

Snowcap Ghosts like Type A's, rarely show any spots. They differ in markings in that instead of the entire body, head, neck, and legs being mostly white, they have large white blankets and lots of darker coloring around their heads, necks and legs.  Like freshly fallen snow on a mountain top, their coloration is particularly lovely and they can be counted on to produce spotted foals 99.9% of the time.

One of the most interesting characteristics of the Ghosts are their amber colored hooves.  Only the leopard complex gene produces these beneath non white, base coat colored markings.  Other breeds must have white socks or stockings to inherit amber colored hooves.

As leaders in the Tiger Horse industry, we continue to study and improve our quality and we share these results and information with others who might wish to become involved.

We first proved a formula for "breeding gaited, colorful horses," and then shaped the breed's standards based on what their genes were telling us would happen. We chose the most desirable aspects to cement into our herds and voila!
Today's Tiger Horse is well on its way as a versatile breed to watch.

To promote and protect these exotic, lovable horses, we established a Registry. Tigre now operates near Dallas, Texas and from January 2008 Annandale will be concentrating on more improvements to the breed and sharing this knowledge with buyers. .

If you want to be successful at horse breeding and sales, you need to associate with successful people, and that would be us at Annandale's Tiger Horse Farm.
