These were the only Ghost Horse foals born from the same two parents, after annual breedings to try to obtain more. Ghost Horses are the most valuable commodity in the Tiger Horse
breed because without them, we would be spending years and several lifetimes trying to get color into our herds.
It is rare indeed for a same couple to produce more than one Ghost Horse
in a lifetime of breeding, unless of course one is breeding 2 Ghost Horses to each other. Finding suitable individuals to breed to each other is another story. These 2 full sisters are particularly beautiful and
represents the 2 types of Ghost Horse found in the LP gene category. While Eagle Feather is a Ghost Horse, her little sister Bold Eagle is a Snowcap Ghost Horse. One hits paydirt when one of these are born. In
recent studies done by a group within the Appaloosa Horse Industry, it was stated that while both types produce foals that inherit a copy of the LP gene, the Snowcap's foals, are usually born colorful and rarely have to
evolve into their spots. |
